Jonathan Brawley: Personal Trainer / Co-ownerBS, NASM-CPT Nationally Certified Personal Trainer
Welcome to Lake Norman Fitness Specialists. I’m Jonathan. I’ve always been curious and passionate about the journey of being in great shape. I earned my National Academy of Sports Medicine personal training certification while pursuing my degree in exercise and sport science at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. I enjoyed three years teaching high school physical education and coaching basketball and football before becoming a full-time personal trainer in 2013. After becoming head trainer and manager at my previous training location, I am thrilled to be pursuing my dream and developing my own personal training business. The clients I work with most are those with needs related to fat loss, strength training and post-rehabilitation training. I thrive on seeing my clients drop inches, gain muscle, and get out of pain.

Josh Soper: Personal Trainer / Co-ownerBS, CSCS, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
We are glad to be part of your fitness journey at Lake Norman Fitness Specialists. I’m Josh. I have been a strength and conditioning coach since 2010 after earning my degree at The University of North Carolina Greensboro in exercise and sport science. I am passionate about helping clients with corrective exercise, improved sport performance, fat loss, and general health and wellness.

One of my favorite aspects of my job is creating customized programs to help clients manage and eliminate pain (lower back, shoulder, hip, knee), perform better on the playing fields, or advance to a new level of fitness. I earned my national certification as a strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

A Few Trainer Tidbits

  • One thing very few people know about you is: I’m actually a pretty good artist.
  • First job: Underground sprinkler installer.
  • Favorite strength exercise: Deadlifts.
  • Guilty-pleasure food: Anything chocolate/peanut butter.

I became a personal trainer because … I think you should love going to work every day and the only way to accomplish that is to do what you love. I wanted to help people become better versions of themselves through corrective exercise and nutrition coaching and empower them with tools they need to make lasting changes.

Micheal Gloss: Personal TrainerM.Ed., CSCS, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Hi my name is Mike. Healthy living and helping people reach their desired fitness goals has been a passion of mine for many years. I’m a graduate of The State University of New York at Buffalo State where I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Health and Wellness with a concentration in Exercise Science. I’m a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and also a certified Group Exercise Instructor. I’ve worked as a personal and group fitness trainer for over 8 years. In that time I’ve had the opportunity to work with a very diverse group of clients, from high school and college athletes, rehabilitating multiple joint replacements, to people just trying to look and feel better. It’s important to me to create personalized, multi-level fitness programs for every client to help each client achieve their aspirations. Through proper exercise and nutritional guidance, several of my clients have lost over 50 lbs, and counting. In 2012, my group training class was named “Best Group Training Class in Western New York” by Buffalo Spree Magazine.

A Few Trainer Tidbits

  • One of my favorite things to do in my spare time: Go wakeboarding, even though I’m quite terrible.
  • Favorite guilty pleasure food: Chicken finger sub, it’s a Buffalo thing.
  • Favorite strength exercise: There are so many great ones, how could you possibly choose just one?

I became a personal trainer because… I genuinely love the health and wellness field. Learning all the ways you can optimize your life, health, and body through exercise and nutrition sparked my interest at a young age. I figure why not do what I love for a living and help others in the process. It’s a win-win for everyone!
